How We Make You Comfortable

Sedation, Our Patient Support Dog & More

We understand that oral surgery can be intimidating and scary, which is why at The Burkitt Center, we do our best to keep you feeling comfortable before and during your appointment. Our spacious waiting area is calming and soothing, and you can ease your anxieties by playing with Bodie, our patient support dog! Bodie is a friendly pup who always likes to make new friends, and is here to help you relax before your appointment.

During your appointment, Dr. Jones and our team will use the latest dental anesthetic and numbing agents to fully numb your mouth, and ensure you feel absolutely no pain or discomfort throughout your treatment.

We also offer a full suite of sedation services, including nitrous oxide sedation (laughing gas), pill-based oral conscious sedation, and IV sedation for a deep level of sedation during your procedure. Laughing gas is a good option for those who have mild dental anxiety, while IV sedation and pill-based sedation provide a deeper level of sedation, and may be a good choice for those who are more nervous about their oral surgery.

In addition to this, we also have TVs in every operating room so that you can watch TV and distract yourself from your procedure, ensuring your comfort as Dr. Jones and our team operate on your mouth and provide you with the dental care you need.

Improve Your Smile Permanently

Dental Implant Placements

If you are interested in restoring your smile permanently, dental implants offer permanence and a natural-looking replacement. These small titanium implants are designed to function as an artificial tooth root, and they are implanted directly into your jaw and gums. They bond permanently with your surrounding gum tissue during a process called osseointegration, which allows them to support a restoration such as a dental crown or an implant-supported denture.

At The Burkitt Center for Comprehensive Dentistry, we specialize in dental implant placements and do our best to ensure your procedure is straightforward and pain-free. We know the process can seem intimidating, but you won’t feel a thing during the procedure, and recovery is quick so you can get back to your day-to-day life with a stronger, healthier smile.

Restore Your Jaw Bone

Bone Grafting

Bone grafting is often required if you want a dental implant, but your jaw is weak due to tooth loss. Once you lose a tooth, the jaw bone underneath the lost tooth will no longer be stimulated, and it will begin to weaken and deteriorate. Bone grafting uses animal, human, or synthetic bone to strengthen your jaw bone. An opening is made in your gums and jaw, and bone material is packed into the area that needs to be strengthened. The area will be sutured shut and it will begin the healing process. Over a period of several months, your natural bone will start to grow around the bone graft, restoring the natural strength of your jaw bone, and allowing for the placement of a dental implant. Once the implant is placed, it will function as an artificial tooth root to prevent future bone loss. Implant transmit force from biting, chewing, and smiling onto the underlying jaw bone, stimulating it and ensuring that your jaw remains strong and healthy for years to come.

Remove Troublesome Teeth

Impacted Wisdom Teeth

If your wisdom teeth are impacted (not fully erupted from the gums), it may not be possible to remove them using the basic extraction process, indicating that a surgical extraction may be required. This procedure consists of making an incision into the gumline, cutting the tooth into pieces, and removing them through this opening.

We offer multiple sedation options and use the latest surgical techniques to maximize patient comfort and minimize invasiveness while extracting impacted wisdom teeth.
